retail design

Marcus & Michael Breach opened the first Grass Roots store in early 2007 to live their dream of offering wholesome, fresh, quality food to the masses.
The grass Roots mission statement : ‘source quality, fresh ingredients and actively seek local and organic produce where possible.’
My brief was similar, into a tiny space, deliver a fresh, vibrant, modern and clean store environment with a vision to opening multiple outlets, each with a recognisable link and unique brand standout.

… on a good thing

when on a good thing, stick to it ….  my relationship with SONIC, will hit 20 years in 2013. SONIC Innovations first used my service in 1993, when they launched their Australian Hearing Aid division. I have designed and built many different exhibition and marketing displays over the last 20 years. The “groove” themed display presented here launched a new product, the graphic design component was worked from existing marketing material.”Greg’s strength is to consistently deliver on time and on budget, his capacity to capture a creative design theme based on a brief provided by ourselves that best reflects the products, services and marketing message we are trying to deliver to our customers is outstanding …… the awards and recognition for the quality and standard of our exhibits is now seen as the benchmark for exhibitors in our industry “

Art of Nature – Photographic Exhibition

In 2010 I was fortunate to work with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – South Australian Government, to develop the Art of Nature photographic exhibition. The key requirements for the project were to construct an exhibition that met environmentally friendly expectations! Renew, Reuse, Recycle and as a result  all large scale elements throughout the exhibition were constructed from recycled cardboard sheet “X-Board” supplied by Dalton Paper. The graphic components printed direct to the panel by Ochre Digital on a large format digital ink-jet printer.

25+ years experience with Display and Exhibition

With 25+ years servicing the display and exhibition industry I have designed and produced all styles of award-winning display and exhibition. Point of Sale (POS), retail window displays, exhibitions, small and large, events, photographic sets, portable displays, showrooms, indoor, outdoor, trade shows, permanent and temporary.

Displays and exhibitions can be fully crafted from raw materials or utilise existing display systems and formats, I am familiar with most and will always work to present to you the solution that best suits your needs and wants.

Example; The Grand Opening of the Adelaide Convention Centre in 2001 was just the excuse needed to push the boundaries for our ‘D3C Design’ stand alone 6m x 3m exhibition.  Fascia and posts removed there is no interruption to block the view through, constructed in sections for ease of transport and re-use, finished in a full gloss 2 part white finish, the exhibit was used again and again by ourselves, many clients and associates.

The stand awarded, Best of Show at the Hot Property Exhibition in July 2003 when used by the The Design Institute of Australia – SA Chapter. The stand presented below is an absolute favourite of mine, congratulations have to be given to the fabulous team who worked on the manufacture of this exhibit.

Can I help you stand out from the crowd ?                                    (Photography – Lightly Salted Commercial Photography)

IT Happens in South Australia

World Congress on IT – Adelaide Convention Centre – 2002  A 150 square metre exhibition stand representing 25 South Australian IT companies showcased our State capability and brought financial benefit to the companies on display. The design solution made effective use of the footprint and the full ceiling height of the exhibition centre creating an elevated and enclosed platform.

Award of Merit, 2002 Design Institute of Australia – Laminex Group  SA Awards Program – “overall the integrated design solution represents international best practice and is well deserving of the Award of Merit”

ASC Australian Submarine Corporation

Standing in excess of five metres tall the ASC exhibit dominates the exhibition hall at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The stand has now been assembled, dis-assembled and re-assembled six times and currently is in storage ready for use at the next Defence and Industry Trade Show. Re-usability has always been important in my display planning.

display furniture for winery

Designed to be more than an information point, these display units are Furniture, manufactured using solid timber – Australian oak, the frames and bases were laminated then machined. The timber is finished in Danish Oil to present the natural feel and texture.  The display face is acrylic and can be illuminated highlighting the 3D display space under the blown acrylic dome. Graphic panels and wine bottles are easily exchanged with-in the display space.
The graceful arc of the support leg is highlighted by the swirl finished aluminium.
